The same report revealed that the UAE has a cryptocurrency adoption rate of 35%, with almost half of the population (47%) believing that crypto is the future of money. They&#8217;ve created the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/about-the-uae\/digital-uae\/regulation-of-digital-properties#:~:text=Dubai%20Virtual%20Assets%20Regulatory%20Authority%20(VARA)&amp;text=The%20authority%20has%20a%20legal,zone%20territories%20(excluding%20DIFC).\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/about-the-uae\/digital-uae\/regulation-of-digital-properties#:~:text=Dubai%20Virtual%20Assets%20Regulatory%20Authority%20(VARA)&amp;text=The%20authority%20has%20a%20legal,zone%20territories%20(excluding%20DIFC).\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority<\/a> (VARA), a regulatory body that grants virtual asset licenses and oversee the country&#8217;s burgeoning blockchain and cryptocurrency industries. Their goal is to attract crypto-based businesses to the region and pave the way for widespread adoption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crypto firms are taking notice, too, and an increasing number of crypto startups have relocated their operations to Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The crypto exchange Bybit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.financeasia.com\/article\/bybit-moves-global-hq-to-dubai-from-singapore\/477017\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.financeasia.com\/article\/bybit-moves-global-hq-to-dubai-from-singapore\/477017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently closed its Singapore operations<\/a>, opting to settle in Dubai, where they will benefit from VARA&#8217;s favorable regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I believe we could help further stakeholders&#8217; understanding of this complex industry as the virtual assets space rapidly matures. This in-principle approval is an extraordinary opportunity for Bybit to support the UAE and the wider region&#8217;s ambition to become a global virtual assets technology hub,&#8221; co-founder and CEO of Bybit said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VARA recently granted a virtual asset license to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/blog\/ecosystem\/binance-awarded-specialist-license-by-dubais-virtual-asset-regulatory-authority-421499824684903580\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/blog\/ecosystem\/binance-awarded-specialist-license-by-dubais-virtual-asset-regulatory-authority-421499824684903580\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Binance<\/a>, the largest crypto in the world by trading volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Binance&#8217;s Richard Teng stated, &#8220;It is a very progressive framework, and we are very happy to be part of that process, working very closely with the Dubai government. In a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303044162\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303044162\" target=\"_blank\">statement released by VARA<\/a>, it will use <a href=\"https:\/\/coincentral.com\/dubais-vara-to-establish-worlds-first-metaverse-hq-in-the-sandbox\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/coincentral.com\/dubais-vara-to-establish-worlds-first-metaverse-hq-in-the-sandbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Sandbox<\/a> platform to acquire virtual land to build the VARA MetaHQ, its metaverse headquarters.
